GRIND AND SEAL

A grind and seal is a budget friendly alternative to polished concrete. The concrete is ground to remove any surface contaminents and open the surface to receive densifier and sealer. The finished product has a similar look to polished concrete but the shine is from the sealer only, typically a satin sheen.

There are three main types of finishing depending on the number of polishing passes and the roughness of the discs utilized. AGGREGATE EXPOSURE

CREAM FINISH

Mainly paste, with fine sands randomly exposed.

SALT & PEPPER FINISH

Mainly fine sands up 1/8″ aggregate, with paste and large aggregate randomly exposed.

MEDIUM AGGREGATE

Mainly 1/8″ to 1/4″ aggregate, with paste and large aggregate randomly exposed.

LARGE AGGREGATE

Mainly 1/4″ to 3/8″+ aggregate, with paste and fines in between.

MY CONCRETE IS VERY ROUGH, SO CAN IT BE POLISHED?

Absolutely Yes! Even rough concrete can be ground to a very smooth and finished polished floor.

OUR FLOOR HAS VINYL TILE ON IT, CAN YOU REMOVE THAT?

We can, but you will probably save money by having your contractor, or demolition crew do it. In any case, you should test for asbestos, first.

HOW IS CONCRETE POLISHED?

We refine your existing concrete floor with a number of fine diamond grinders until your concrete becomes smooth and shiny. Not much different that how wood is smoothed with different grains of sandpaper.

HOW SLIPPERY IS POLISHED CONCRETE?

Sleep soundly knowing that concrete polished floors are slip resistance.

IS MAINTENANCE OF POLISHED CONCRETE DIFFICULT?

Not at all. Polished floors are chemical resistant as well stain resistant. Simply just use a dust mop and or wet mop using a gentle cleaning product to maintain your shine and slip resistance. You may also want recommendations or help from our experts, which we are happy to provide.
